Let’s take a moment to think about your current job.
Are you furloughed? Are you frustrated? Are you feeling unfulfilled?
While I enjoyed a successful career with the US government, I’ve experienced all three of these. I’ve been furloughed with a family to support; I’ve been in job situations that were very frustrating; and, I’ve had some jobs the left me feeling unfulfilled.
Now, here’s the sad part – I was unaware that I had any other option but to keep on keeping on. My only view of the work world was to trade time for money and, as hard as I tried to get ahead, there never seemed to be enough of either.
Only after I retired did I learn about a different option – a different business model and one that offers a better approach to how you are compensated, how quickly you advance, how many hours you work, when you work and where you work.
This business model offers independence and freedom. Because it’s misunderstood by many, it gets a bad rap and so many people avoid taking the time to really understand it. This model requires courage to do things you may have never done before, self-discipline (because you’ll be your own boss), and a willingness to learn new things. It’s definitely not a “get rich quick” scheme; it requires work as you learn to work in an entirely different way.
It can open doors you never knew existed and enable you to create a future that can exceed your biggest dreams. I remember those days when my job took so much time, attention and energy that I had nothing left for dreaming. Is that you today?
